Swaby’s Tae Kwon Do Academy is Grand Sensei Carlos Swaby’s school on Neponset Avenue: a place where kids, teens and parents train side by side and the whole school travels together to compete.
The school

Philmore Phillip II’s Google review calls it “One of the only and longest lasting black owned martial arts studio in the Boston, Ma area.” Bobby Boyd’s says it has “nice programs for all ages.”
That is the heart of it. Classes run for three-year-olds through adults, so a whole family can train in the same school. The instructors hold every student to a high standard and celebrate them when they meet it.
The goal is the same at every age: discipline, confidence and respect that carry over to school, to work and to home. Taekwondo is how we get there.

Carlos Swaby
Grand Sensei Carlos Swaby leads the academy that carries his name. He teaches on the mat alongside a team of four instructors.

The titles differ, and you’ll hear all of them in class. Each is simply how that instructor is addressed on the mat.

Your first class is free. Pick the class for your age, choose a time that works, and come meet the instructors on the mat. Wear something comfortable you can move in.
